Visualization in car damage analysis

This visualization shows how a car deforms in an asymmetrical crash. The blue color is used in areas which are not affected by the crash, whereas the impacted areas are colored in yellow. I believe the colors used in this visualization are associated to human's perception about those colors. For example, the blue color holds the meaning of calmness and inanimateness, which fits to be represented as unaffected. On the other hand, the yellow color means vivid and energetic, which also fits the idea that these areas are affected due to the crash.
