Information Visualizations

This website shows different visualizations that people have used to show different information. My favorite one is that of the lifespan of animals because of its creativity. It uses a giant path that goes from the top of the page to the bottom and goes from the animal on top with the shortest lifespan to the longest lifespan at the end. It also shows a picture of each animal and its lifespan along the way. It works well because it does not distract the user at all and the information is pretty clear and interesting. The main reason I thought it was pretty impressive was because they included pictures of each animal and its name, if they did not do so, this visualization would be pretty dull. They also used color to distinguish what kind of animal each one was: a mammal, bird, vertebrates, invertebrates. This adds to the creativity of it and the it.
