Birth of a word.

http://www.ted.com/talks/deb_roy_the_birth_of_a_word.html

This is a TED talk by Deb Roy on some incredible research that he has done with his family.
He has his entire house mapped with cameras and recording devices. Everything is stored so that it can be reconstructed and replayed. Relevance to information visualization is the amazing way
that he represents a complex data set: the utterances of words over time and spatial location in the house.

There are a few other visualizations on connectivity and drawing relations.

The talk itself starts off about language, and there is a great sound clip in there of a baby learning to say water.

It's a great watch for content overall, not just information visualization.
