Movie Visualization

Who doesn't love going to the movies? I know I do, but anyhoo.

This is a really cool visualization I saw on the NYTimes website that I felt like sharing with you guys. It's about the income of movies release from the 80s to 2008 - that's about 20 years of blockbuster movies right there. It's just really interesting to see the patterns they form, and basically get an idea of how the movie industry works.
