While perusing my favorite blog aggregator (hacker news, anyone?) I came across a nice visualization + article of a metaheuristic algorithm called harmony search that looked interesting. I had never heard of harmony search before and my understanding of metaheuristic algs is shaky at best so I decided to give it a read. The article was informative, but the visualization really expressed to me the power of this technique. For those who want to see for yourselves, it's located here.
