This is a screen shot of a website known as Newsmap. I thought that this was a fairly ingenious and intuitive way of presenting the vast amounts of current events that we are bombarded with on a daily basis. News categories are color coded and grouped, while more popular and notable events appear much larger than less notable ones. Hovering over a "news block" presents an abridged summary of the event, and clicking on the block will take a user to the news source. This service effectively employs the principles of proximity, comparison, and color to provide a novel method of perusing the daily news.
