As I looked around for new apps to add on my apple device, I came across Hitlantis. Hitlantis is a visualization program in which it shows which musical bands are currently popular, while other ones are starting to get some steam.
In the picture, colors represent genres, while having the ball bigger indicates that the band is very popular, while the smaller ones not as much .
Each circle represent a band, and once you click on them, you can hear a sample from the band, and rate band.
I thought it was a very interesting way to represent popularity among musical artists. Unfortunately, this is still a system in progress, and currently 65% of the artists are from finland.
I still think is a very cool concept and worth checking out.
