Visualizations of NY Times Top People and Organizations (1985-2009)
See all of the visualizations here
This set of visualizations shows the top people and organizations mentioned in the NY Times year by year (1985-2009). It also shows their connections and relationships between themselves. The size of the subject represents the amount of times it was mentioned in the NY Times that year. The lines linking subjects represents that they are related in some way. In theory this should allow the user of the visualization to see a broad overview of what subjects were popular during a particular year and also see its specific relationships with other subjects. However, the visualizations are far too cluttered to be of any real use. I think they are still nice to look at and are very interesting anyways.
