iOS vs. Android

Here is a pie chart for the world wide cell phone OS usage collected at May 2010. You can see that Apple's iOS dominates the market with 40 percent, and Android has 26%, which is the second largest share of the market. Keep in mind that this data was collected a year ago. The statistics are different now. Android may have an increased share of the market.

  1. It has actually changed pretty drastically since 2011. Android is dominating in growth, at 50% of the recently purchased phones, and iOS at only 25%. As for total market share, Android is now at 37% vs iOS's 27%. Source: http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/?p=27418
